Essential Information

How to Book Tee Times

Paid BWGA members have access to book preferred BWGA tee times at Brookline Golf Course using Brookline’s “ForeUp” system.  Here's how it works:

  • Go to the "Tee Times" page of Brookline Golf Course's website.  They use a software called "ForeUp" to book times.

  • Scroll down and choose the blue "BWGA" box.

  • Log in using the email and password you used to sign up for booking tee times at Brookline. Make sure you’ve added a credit card to your account.

  • NOTE: if you haven’t created an account with ForeUp to book at Brookline, you’ll need to make sure to do that first. Go to the "Tee Times" page of Brookline Golf Course's website, go to the top right and choose “Log In” and then click on “sign up for free.” You’ll need to create an account before BWGA can give you access to book our preferred tee times.

  • Using the calendar, look ahead for dates offered by BWGA. You can sign up as far as 8 days in advance (i.e., sign up on a Wednesday for the following Wednesday).

  • Once the course opens more holes, the options will tell you whether 9 holes or 18 are available - for now, only the back 9 are open.  Sign yourself up!  You'll pay through the website.

  • You will receive an automated email from the pro shop confirming your tee time and payment.

Important Information About Tee Times

  • Tee times are first-come, first-served.  Cancellation policy is the same as applies to all rounds at the course.

  • Tee times are posted 8 days in advance.

  • With the exception of weekend afternoons, tee times are only available for members - please do not sign up for non-members or bring guests. In special circumstances, guests may be allowed but please check with Ally, Maeve, or Courtney in advance. Registering or bringing non-members during BWGA-only tee times may result in a suspension or cancelation of your membership.

  • If registering another member for a BWGA tee time, please include their name in the reservation. Reservations that say “guest” are subject to cancellation.

  • Signing up for a tee time represents your preference. Your day captain is responsible for setting the final tee times for the week.  Day captains may occasionally rearrange groups to ensure back-to-back tee times or promote good pace of play within groups.  You’ll get an updated tee time confirmation if your time slot changes. More often than not, day captains will honor your original request, but we need some flexibility to keep our block of tee times moving smoothly with the pro shop.

Which Day Is Best for You to Play?

We work with the pro shop to reserve preferred tee times for BWGA league members four days throughout the week. Each group has different expectations around play. Your handicap should dictate with which group you decide to play.

We play Tuesday mornings and evenings, Wednesday mornings and evenings, and weekend mornings and evenings.

  • Advanced beginners and up - Evenings (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday)

    • We are not a beginners’ league, but we believe that golf should be accessible and welcoming.

    • If you were a new member early in 2026, you might not yet have a handicap but you should be working toward one. If you are a returning member, we expect you to have an active GHIN membership and a handicap.

    • Tuesday and Wednesday evenings open to the entire league and all levels are strongly encouraged to play. It is our most social group. If this is your first year, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are a great way to meet other members and learn more about the league.

    • Afternoon/evenings are a 9-hole format. You need to be able to keep pace of play, play by the rules, and understand basic golf etiquette. Newer golfers should be comfortable asking for feedback on rules and pace, and open to receiving hints on league play.

  • Established golfers - Mornings (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday)

    • Mornings are offered to everyone, but you should have an active handicap under 36 before signing up.

    • Mornings generally offer an 18-hole format only.

  • Everyone - weekend afternoons

    • In 2025, the course management offered a new set of tee times to BWGA members and their guests. Highly popular, the pro shop is offering these again in 2026.

    • BWGA members can book the weekend afternoons and it’s the only preferred tee time where members are allowed to bring guests. (A guest must play with a member.)

    • Weekend afternoon golfers (members and guests) need to be able to keep pace of play, play by the rules, and understand basic golf etiquette. Newer golfers should be comfortable asking for feedback on rules and pace, and open to receiving hints on league play.

    • Weekend afternoons are generally a 9-hole format, though 18 may be offered mid-summer while the days are long!

How to Pay Your Membership Dues (and Pay any Other Fees)

Dues are what keeps the league going!

Members have access to BWGA benefits as soon as dues are paid; dues should not be paid until invited to do so (this applies both to returning members and new members). Dues are tiered for new and returning members and are not prorated based on the length of the season. Dues are non-refundable and not tax deductible.

In 2026, dues are $100 for new members and $60 for returning members. Please do not pay dues until invited to do so.

Once invited, there are three ways to pay your dues:

  1. Zelle to courtney@bwgagolf.com [preferred over Venmo because there is no fee to BWGA; choose “business” account and enter this email address]

  2. Venmo to @BWGA-putterham

  3. Mail a check made out to “BWGA” and mailed to: BWGA / 100 Anderer Lane #6 / West Roxbury MA 02132

Hole-In-One Insurance

We are pleased to include hole-in-one insurance to our members, funded from your dues. The policy is available here.
